Parish Values
At the heart of the Pastoral Plan are the over-arching, primary values and beliefs that govern the thinking and acting of St. Barbara Parish. These values are to be at the forefront of planning for ministries, activities, and celebrations as we constantly strive to live them to the fullest.

Engage & Empower
We strive to engage and empower the lay faithful to utilize their charisms and gifts to make possible the ministries, activities, and services provided by our parish.

Preaching & Teaching
We seek to provide parishioners with the best experience of preaching and teaching in order that the faithful may understand, know, and share with others the faith they have received.

Communication& Evangelization
We endeavor to provide full awareness of parish events and activities, and highlight the good work that is done throughout our broader community. By doing so we express this truth: “All are valued, needed, and loved.”

We pledge to cultivate an atmosphere that encourages individuals to think outside the box, and the courage to make things happen. Moving beyond the status quo requires the courage to make mistakes.

Engage and empower the next generation for leadership
With the full knowledge and thanksgiving for the contributions of those currently serving in leadership and ministries, there is a desire to engage those who will become the next generation of leaders. To do this we must first engage those in this demographic in ministries and then empower them to fulfill positions of leadership.
Goal #1: Beginning in the fall of 2023 through the spring of 2025, involve in new/different ministries or activities 25% of parents bringing their children to be baptized
Goal #2: By December of 2024, involve an additional 20 parishioners between the ages of 25-45 in new or different ministries

Transform the community through the experience of biblical hospitality
We strive to embody the Rule of St. Benedict in all aspects of parish life at St. Barbara Parish: “Let all guests who arrive be received as Christ.” No matter who you are, no matter what your purpose for being here, we will respond to you in the same way that we would respond to Christ.
Goal #1: By spring of 2025, increase the number of people who strongly agree that the parish makes them feel welcome and accepted by 25%.
Goal #2: By fall 2024, engage 20 people in intentional communities grounded in shared/common interests

Create missionary disciples to share the Good News
We desire to transform each person's relationship with Jesus Christ so that they know him personally with an ability to communicate their relationship and understanding of the faith to others.
Goal #1: By spring of 2024, increase by 15% participation in parish formation activities and maintain or increase pace of growth through Spring of 2025
Goal #2: By fall of 2025, increase by 40% those who agree or strongly agree that they have grown in confidence in the Church’s teachings so they can answer another’s questions
