The Ladies Guild of St. Barbara Church is a parish organization, open to Catholic women across the Diocese of Greensburg, who want to serve the church and community in a variety of supportive ways. Consider joining us as we combine our Catholic faith with the desire to assist others as Jesus instructed us to do. We are a dynamic and welcoming group.
In addition, our organization is also a member of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, as well as, the National Council of Catholic Women. Our meetings are usually held monthly, on a Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Take this opportunity to interact with other Catholic women while serving God and our community in so many valuable ways. Some of our endeavors include:
| 1. Holding two fundraisers per year – Bingo and an afternoon tea |
| 2. Contributing and working bake sales – Fish Fry and Parish Festival |
| 3. Visiting St. Anne’s Home monthly, providing help and support with Bingo and suppling prizes |
| 4. Providing and distributing comfort items for those receiving chemotherapy |
| 5. Creating prayer blankets, packaging and placing in the sacristy for those in need, upon request |
| 6. Awarding two scholarships to local high school seniors |
| 7. Hosting weekly, Monday morning Bible Study sessions |
| 8. Holding an evening Outdoor Rosary in the circle of the church, every other Wednesday, during the summer months |
| 9. Donating to parish needs, as well as, community organizations and events |
| 10. Presenting an ‘Afternoon of Reflection’ for our parish women |
| 11. Helping and, at times hosting, the annual community “World Day of Prayer” with other local churches |
| 12. Supporting and celebrating Guild members – prayer requests, birthday cards, Mass intentions, family & parish events |
