| Proclaiming the Good News of Christ, Our Lord and Savior | ||
The Very Reverend Kenneth Zaccagnini will celebrate the Dedication of the Marian Garden at 5:00PM on Wednesday, September 8, the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary at St. Barbara Church, 111 Raymaley Road, Harrison City, PA 15636. Anyone wishing to attend is most welcome to join in prayer as the Statue and Garden are blessed and the birthday of Mary is celebrated.
If you have not yet seen the stunning statue of Madonna and Child, the Madonna della Strada, gracing the entry to St. Barbara Roman Catholic Church in Harrison City, it is worth a drive!

Recently, I asked Mary Ellen Stilwell, our Director of
Evangelization, to head up and develop a Home Visitation Committee for our parish.
The core task of the Home Visitation Committee is to take a page out of the evangelical play book of Jesus and visit every ‘active’ and ‘non-active’ household in our parish.

Father Jaime Sullan Ozoa, "Father Jimmy," has been assigned as Parochial Vicar at St. Barbara Parish in Harrison City, and we are most happy to welcome him with open arms.
Father Jimmy will replace our beloved Father Doug Dorula, who will
be leaving August 18 to serve as Parochial Vicar Pro Tem of Mount Saint Peter
Parish in New Kensington; he will be greatly missed, and we congratulate him,
and pray for all success in his new office.

Our festival this year, in my opinion, was perfect.
As I looked for words to describe its success, I quickly thought of the word synergy.
God has once again offered his sunshine on this parish. May the success of this festival and the synergy that occurred continue to be a part of the fabric of St. Barbara Parish.
